I am going to Paris for the very first time with my boyfriend for a long weekend next month. We are going by Eurostar and we are excited, We have not been away in ages. Has anyone been to Paris and how easy is it to travel from Paris Nord Station to St Marcel Station- or on the Metro in general? Anyone got any tips and advice for traveling around Paris, sightseeing etc. Any advice would be great!! Thanks guys

Very easy. You need only take Metro line #5 from the Gare du Nord Metro station. You want to go in the direction of Place d’Italie. Its about a 16 minute ride to your stop.
I don’t know where St Marcel is, but the Metro is really easy to get around, at least as easy as the London Underground, although the Metro map isn’t as clear as London’s. The system is really big and it can take ages to get from one side to the other on the Metro, but getting around the centre is easy. And it has its own character, it’s fun just to travel around and soak up the atmosphere. You can get tickets for the Metro before you go which makes it a bit easier when you arrive. I used this company before Christmas they do all sorts of paris stuff like sightseeing and transport – you can get ideas of what to do on their site and there’s a maps page for the Metro. There have passes which include museums etc
Real easy, the principle is the same everywhere you first find on which line is the station you go to and then you choose the direction and that’s it.
Don’t worry everything is cool but I warn you not to be with luggages between 7.30 and 9 and after 5 pm in the subway, cause it’s really crowded!
