I go to Hamilton from Ottawa quite a bit and find it cheaper and much shorter to go by plane. Air Canada. Check out there website they frequently have seat sales. I usually can go for about 55 dollars one way plus flight fees. but 1 hr vs. 8 hrs on a train which i did once is totally horrible and its about the same prices. Buses and trains are not Cheap. But compare prices by going to Gray hound, Via Rail and Air Canada. Prices vary depending on the days that you are going. Weekend travel always costs more. Good luck
