Just wanting some general guidelines about the age a child has to be to travel. I will have just given birth one month before we are due to move overseas and I think that may be too soon for the baby to travel.

Just check with your pediatrician… Most airlines require a healthy baby that is at least 7 days old. Just make sure you have all the documents you need.

i think it would be fine. my son was 9 months old when we made our first trip on the plane and he was fine. i i would have gone earlier but i wanted to be with family at christmas. when you take off and land be sure to have a bottle or breastfeed your baby to help with popping ears. i brought a big fluffy pillow for my son to sleep on and we kept him swaddled as much as possible to keep him content.
i was watching an airline programme once and im quite sure it was over 7 days. if youre in any doubt contact your airline and ask. the last thing you want is to be turned away on the day. good luck =]
