I’m planning on flying into Britain and then I want to travel to the European Union. Is travel between britain and the EU fairly simple? I’m finding the best priced tickets into London, but I don’t want to stay in England, so I just want to know if its no problem to just cross over into France and travel the rest of Europe.

You can travel for up to 3 months (90 days) in the Schengen area with just a passport.
Other countries outside of the Schengen zone have their own rules, but it’s usually 3 months for them as well.
If you need your passport . . . You should try Tom Netau’s US Passport site. They can hook you up with a passport in as little as within 24 hours – fairly inexpensively, all automated online(no postage), and saves you a lot of hassle and time.
The most I think you would pay is $200, and you can get it done for as little as $100, which is less than a Passport Acceptance Office would charge. It all depends on how fast you need it. The faster you need it, the more the cost.
Impeccable service, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC have praised them for their service and are officially licensed by the US Passport Office.
You can either go this route, or wait up to 6-8 weeks for one.
Doing it online, there is no need for appointments, long lines, rushing in traffic clear across town, none of that.
There truly is no other option when it comes to this, if you need it faster than that. The link to the website is in the resource box.
Hope this helped

Britain is PART of the EU, so, no such thing as travel between the two. Travel WITHIN the EU is fairly simple. It was even before the EU.
You need nothing special if you are going to be there less than 90 days. If you plan to stay longer than that, you need a visa, but few people who aren’t going to work or study (and usually have visas anyways) stay that long.
You will need a Schengen visa to travel in Schengen countries. You will probably get checked as soon as you get into Schengen country, so sort it out before you take plane, rain or ferry from UK.
Happy travels.
You will only need your passport to travel all around Europe.
You’ll also need a high-limit credit card or two.
