I want to travel the Universe with my wife and leave Earth behind. Without spending billions of dollars like NASA does on a spaceship to leave Earth and not going very far, is there any way that I can build one and travel faster than the speed of light without damaging our bodies? I know this may be complex but how would I go about doing it? Only serious answers please if you honestly know.

There is no way to do this with existing technology.
Only in books. You local library should offer a wide selection of science fiction novels. I would recommend Peter F Hamilton and Jack McDevitt. Hamilton is a BIG IDEA writer. McDevitt writes great books that are usually more like detective novels that happen to involve spaceships. Although his superb Eternity Road takes place hundreds of years from now in which the most advanced technology is basically a steam engine. I’m also a huge fan of Jack Vance, a writer who is widely overlooked but who commands a fanatical following. You cannot do better than these to explore the universe on a budget.
OK, here’s what you do. Go down to Lowes and get you some of that shiny aluminum insulation stuff to build yourself a really big solar sail. Won’t quite make light speed, but close enough to keep the Mrs. amused with relativistic distortions. Strap it on to a big Hummer.. they’re pretty affordable these days.
Now that the ship’s designed, how do we get you up there?
You need to monitor solar flare activity for an upcoming storm. Set your rig up at the North Pole, or South if there’s no ice left. Hook the sail up to your car battery. By modulating the electrostatic charge on your sail, you should be able to swim up the incoming auroras, like a big salmon, until you achieve orbital altitude. Then, use some Kevlar rope and a hook to pivot around the space station and sail away.
For a few million more, I’ll throw in some drawings.
well, first you nust find an energy source. i suggest u use part of the core of the earth, or just a large part of the mantle. it has lots of heat and will make lots of energy.
next, you must build your space ship. i suggest construction paper because it is tougher than regular paper.you can use elmer’s glue to hold it together.
you cannot go the speed of light, but you can go pretty darn close by charging the atoms in ur bodies to all protons, and then convert the protons to a type of energy ( i forget the name of that energy) and it can be converted back to protons.
next, you must find a planet. if you fart in the middle of space, the atoms will race torwards the closest mass, so you better get a fan.
when you find the lorkhanites at the planet zinkhan, tell them i sent you.
Unfortunately, technology has not provided us with the tools for cheap planetary travel… yet.
However, even once it does, the laws of physics prevent anyone from traveling faster than the speed of light.
i can’t believe you are married. you sound like a nutjob.
no, no one can travel the speed of light no matter the cost, we don’t have the technology.
Build a $999,999,999 dollar spaceship
Most other idiots take drugs to do that.
