Try Dunkin Doughnuts, it doesn’t SAY that it’s microwave safe, but that’s what I use it for. I had the same problem.
Not a speck of metal on it, all plastic (and considering I’ve used it many times.. hasn’t melted) All for the price of like 3 dollars. You get free hot chocolate when you buy it too!

Dangers of people burning their mouth, having the travel mug spark if it is stainless steel. Just a bunch of little things that people could sue the companies for, that’s all.

Just pick a few thick plastic mugs that dont have any metal on, and use those.
