I am traveling to all of those places within a week and was told it is hard to travel within Egypt- is this true, and what are the best ways and approximate costs?

buses are cheap but I heard that the best and most efficient way to do it would be flying.
Hi,
If you are travelling from Cairo to Luxor you could go by plane if you book four weeks in advance or longer and you book on the first seats released on the plane say 20 or so when the flight goes on sale will be at a cheaper price about 500LE return which at today’s exchange rate is about £58 although this can be cheaper. Should you want then to go to Dahab from Luxor you would then have to fly to Sharm el Sheikh and then go by car/taxi to Dahab which is about a 45 min journey.
If you wanted to go by public transport Cairo to Luxor you could go on the train and this would be about 9 hours and 100LE £12 or the local bus, although be prepared for very loud music on the bus (whatever time day or night) and take your own food as it is really bad food on the buses.
If you are a single girl on your own i cannot see any problem travelling around Egypt just take care as you would in the UK. Sit in the back of the taxi should you get one and not in the front. Don’t flash your valuables/money around. Try and get lots and lots of change or smaller denomination notes when you are in Cairo and keep hold of them as no one in Egypt will have any change and especially if you are travelling around the country you don’t want to have to go looking for change when you have bartered for a taxi as the taxi driver will NEVER have any change.
|Above all enjoy yourself.
Its not that hard; it isn’t hard at all. They r buses u can travel in. Good luck!
