I love to travel but I’m always on a budget. I tend to visit places where I have friends so I can save money on lodging by staying with them. Any other suggestions on how I can save some cash while I’m traveling?

I just bought my own on-line travel agency, and now, I travel at unbelievable wholesale prices, AND, I earn commission on all my own travel and anyone else’s travel booked on my website. And the best part is that all my travel is now tax deductable because I am a travel professional!

get one of those enternainment books. They have all kinds of coupons on car rentals and resturaunts and even hotels. Other than that, just try the comparison websites like expedia and priceline.com or cheaptickets.com. Compare the prices. You may also consider going through a travel agent.
If you don’t feel like staying with friends and want a hotel instead, find one that has free breakfast. Most Comfort Inns do.
Buy lunch at a grocery store instead of a restaurant.
Buses & trains instead of taxis.
Just throwing these out here. Sorry if they’re obvious.
Walk? Ride a bicycle? Sleep in caves? Eat berries and tree bark? Drink from rivers?
You doing the best money saver, saving on hotels. If, you eat out a lot, you could get a medium Ice Chest and keep some sandwich stuff. I never buy Mayo in a jar but do keep mustard. Just pick-up some of those little MacD type packs of Mayo and it stay good. I usually drive places and sometimes can find someone going that way, and they share Fuel expense. Heck, one time this guy paid all the fuel, he said; „It would have cost a lot more than this and you still putting ‘wear and tear’ on your car”. The wear and tear would have been anyway, but, I did not argue taking the money.
